Digging a little deeper – Tunnelling towards tomorrow
An employer brand that unites three companies under one EVP, and invites people to join a once-in-a-lifetime project.
If you're from the UK, chances are you've heard about HS2, unless you've been avoiding the news for the past few years. But what you might not be familiar with is SCS JV. They're the ones responsible for making HS2 happen.
Lightbulb
Feedback is everywhere these days, from takeaway deliveries to plumbing services, making it hard to capture attention when needed. But finding something intriguing can make all the difference. All three businesses share a common thread: their employees.
At SCS JV, the team operates tunnel boring machines (TBMs), each named like a cherished family member.
From cardboard cutouts to Lego
These TBMs aren't just tools, they’re integral to the people shaping British history, leaving an extraordinary mark. This would be our secret weapon for reaching our audience. Ticket dispensers and cardboard models would work by engaging employees and, our uniquely designed Lego mining drill would help us educate the next generation of budding engineers.
What we did
We launched social media videos to attract attention and used retargeting to keep our message alive, guiding candidates back to the site. The EVP, ‘Freedom to Achieve the Extraordinary,’ reflects our commitment to empowerment. The careers site showcases this, inviting visitors to explore opportunities. We created a cardboard model of Sushila, a TBM, to illustrate our EVP. We also made mini Lego versions of the SCS TBM as not only a gift, but something that can be given out on school visits to inspire the next generation.
