Remote Work Isn't Proper Work

22nd Remote Work Isnt Proper Work Content

Lord Stuart Rose, the former big boss at Asda and M&S, has just thrown down the gauntlet, claiming remote workers are lazy freeloaders dragging down the UK economy.

According to Lord Rose, those working from home are more interested in daytime TV than deadlines. He paints a picture of pyjama-clad employees neglecting their duties, leaving the UK to foot the bill for their laziness. Is this the reality, or just an outdated stereotype?

Why Hybrid Working is the Future

At WeLove9am, we think Lord Rose's views are a bit outdated. The world of work has changed and hybrid working is here to stay. It's all about finding the right balance between office time and remote flexibility.

Here's why hybrid working rocks:

Increased Productivity: Studies show that people can be just as productive (if not more so) when they have the flexibility to work remotely.

Happier Employees: Less commuting, more flexibility and a better work-life balance lead to happier, more engaged employees.

Wider Talent Pool: Hybrid working allows companies to attract top talent from anywhere, not just those within commuting distance.

Reduced Costs: Less office space, lower overheads – it makes good business sense.

So, Who’s Really Clueless About the Future of Work?

So, while Lord Rose might be clinging to the past, we're embracing the future of work. Hybrid working offers the best of both worlds and it's time for companies to get on board.
